'A failed marriage is the most humiliating confirmation of the transitory seduction of the flesh.Lovers can explore every line, every curve and hollow, of the beloved's body, can together reach the height of inexpressible ecstasy, yet how little it matters when love or lust at last dies and we are left with the disputed possessions, lawyer's bills, the sad detritus of a lumber-room,when the house chosen, furnished, possessed with enthusiasm and hope has become a prison, when faces are set in lines of preevish resentment and bodies no longer desired are observed in all their imperfections with a dispassionate and disenchanted eye.'

...and that my friends, is the reason why the thought of marriage petrifies me.
Not the lack of lust, but the eventual disenchantment, the love that is nothing more than perfunctory at best.
*sigh.

Oh, c'mon, woman. I'm with Ubee on this. Plus if you're to live your life in fear of this, you might as well never a forge a relationship of any kind, because all of them can end in perfunctory love and disenchantment and hurt. =]
Eeda, it's not that bad in every situation. I can vouch for that. :) Don't be scared. Make sure that you learn from this excerpt..:) don't make the mistakes that ppl make at times, lack of tolerance, maturity and understanding lead to marriages that don't work. Unless it's something dire like infidelity or something else like it.
I'd like to get married all over again, if I could. It's so great, to the same man of course, lol, but the husband thinks I am certifiably crazy!! I even suggested it on our 10th Anniversary, he gufffawwed. so yeah , get married, Eeda. It's amazing.
Ali: Don't you ever give up??? Lol.
